TPM 2.0 enables measured boot (where each boot stage’s hash is recorded in the TPM’s PCR registers), providing an attestation chain that proves the system booted in a known-good state. Remote attestation using the TPM can allow a server to verify that the client system has not been tampered with at the firmware level.
